Controlled Folder Access

Has anyone tried using bvckup2 with Windows 10 Controlled Folder Access turned on?

Do you have any advice, for example should all requests be manually "Allowed on device"

What will happen if I don't Allow on device (ever)

And what will happen if I start bvckup2 and get the request, and then subsequently Allow it?

Not sure I follow, sorry. The only two folders the program writes to are the job destination and the program's own config folder. Neither is on the default list when Controlled Folders are enabled. If these are added to the list, but the program itself is not whitelisted with the CFA, then it will start reporting CreateFile failing with "error 2", which is "not found".

The first one to pop up was "Protected Memory Access Blocked"

Do you have a screenshot? I can't reproduce this, not on the W10 build I have.

You have the CFA enabled for the system drive, correct? In this case, it extends to the user profile folder, so the program cannot store the configuration or its run-time state. Your only two options here is to either relocate the configuration folder to another non-CFA'd volume [1]  or whitelist the program with the CFA.

I am happy with CFA reporting on Protected Folder Access Blocked.
The screenshot is about Protected Memory, not Folder, so I just wanted to confrim that's ok.
